Metalaxyl 8% + Mancozeb 64% WP is a wettable powder containing a mixture of the systemic fungicide metalaxyl and the contact fungicides mancozeb. It contain 80 gm/kg. metalaxyl (8% m/m) and 640 gm/kg mancozeb (64% m/m). Metalaxyl 8% + Mancozeb 64% WP MZ 72 WP ensure a double protection to the target plants during the period of active growth from the inside due to systemic activity of metalaxyl and from the outside due to contact activity of mancozeb.

Direction Of Use

Measure out the required quantity of the product and mix it well with a small quantity of water. Add the remaining quantity of water as specified with thorough agitation. Adjust the quantity of product in proportion to the water required to cover a hectare when high volume spray equipment such as knapsack sprayers, hand compression sprayer are used. It is also suitable for low volume application with motorized knapsack sprayer, mist blowers etc. with flood jet nozzle. Compatibility: At recommended rates, Metalaxyl 8% + Mancozeb 64% WP is compatible with most other commonly used insecticides and fungicides except lime sulphur.

Precautions

Do not use cooking utensils for preparing spray. Use stick for stirring the spray solution. Wear hand gloves to avoid contact with the skin. Also avoid inhalation and contact with eye. Wear protective clothing, mask, goggles, boots while spraying and do not expose yourself to spray drift. Do not blow nozzles with mouth. Do not eat, drink or smoke while handling or applying the product. Do not store unused spray solution. Clean sprayer, buckets and other utensils with water daily after use.

Wash hand with soap and plenty of water and change clothes after the work is over. Also wash the contaminated clothes. Do not contaminate streams, ponds, waterways etc. by discharging leftover spray materials into them or by cleaning sprayers, contaminated buckets etc. in them.

Do not use spray when bees are active. When used at recommended dosages, no adverse effect on wild life is expected. In case of any sign of poisoning, immediately consult the doctor.

Warning: Experience has shown that strains of fungus resistant to metalaxyl may develop, resulting in a reduction in the efficacy of the product and thus in yield losses since the occurrence of resistance cannot be foreseen. Registrant, accept no responsibility for any loss of or damages to crop resulting from the failure of Metalaxyl 8% + Mancozeb 64% WP to control the resistant strains.

Symptoms Of Poisoning

Sedation, dyspnoea, exophthalmos, abnormal posture, tightness in muscles may occur.

First Aid
  • Under laboratory conditions the following unspecific poisoning symptoms were observed in rats.
  • In case of poisoning , call a physician immediately.
  • In case of poisoning by ingestion through mouth, victim should be induced to vomit.
  • In case of external contamination wash off contamination by soap water and remove the contaminated clothes and keep the victim in fresh air.

Disposal Of Used Container
  • Packages or surplus materials and washing from the machine and containers should be disposed of in a safe manner as to prevent environmental water pollution.
  • The used packages shall nto be left outside to prevent their re-use.
  • Packages shall be broken and burried away from habitation.
Storage Conditions
  • The package containing the fungicides shall be stored in separate rooms or premises away from the rooms or premises used for storing other articles particularly articles of food or shall be kept in separate almirahs under lock and key depending upon the quantity and nature of the fungicide.
  • The room or premises meant for storing the insecticide shall be well built, dry, well lit and ventilation and of sufficient dimension to avoid contamination with vapour.
